Today I was supposed to do what we call an inferior alveolar nerve block on a patient that had a really small mouth. Upon giving the injection I placed the needle a little too far inferiorally and accidentally anesthetized her vocal chords. She freaked out cuz she could hardly speak for like and hour but I appoligized and in the end she forgave me. I´ve since done a few of the same injection and they came out just fine so I guess I´ve learned my lesson
Pretty crazy
So one of the patients that I treated was pregnant and refused anesthesia. I worked on her for like and hour and a half and she didn´t even flinch. She´s was truly a soldier
